Job description

SAIC is seeking anEngineer Technician for shipboard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation afloat mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with the planning, development, and execution of stage 4 and 5 test procedures development and test execution for shipboard C5ISR systems.
  • Utilizes specialized test equipment to complete C5ISR Stage 4 and Stage 5 testing.
  • Works with the multidisciplinary technical team supporting engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of C5ISR systems.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts using Autocad and PDF formats to perform testing, checkout and trouble shooting functions.
  • Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics).

Required Education and Experience:

  • AA Degree in related discipline and three (3)  years or more relevant experience with  one or more shipboard C5ISR  systems: radio communication racks, Interior Communications(Alarm/Saferty/Warning), shipboard CGOne/Unclass/SIPRNET LANs, Surface Search Radar,  Navigation Distribution system, Integrated Bridge System Or, High School and five (5) years related experience with relevant certification.

Required Security Clearance and Certifications:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance on first day of employment.
  • Familiar with utilizing C4ISR/C5ISR Interface Control Documents, Block diagrams, and Functional Interface Drawings.  

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with MIL-STD-2106 Development of Shipboard Industrial Test procedures.
  • Prior experience utilizing Autocad.
  • Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IA Level II - Security+ certification, or CSSIP, Network+, A+ or equivalent.

Desired/Key C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR Shipboard Systems:

  • Integrated Bridge System.
  • Gyrocompass (e.g., WSN-7).
  • Surface Search Radars (e.g., AN/SPY-6, SPS-series).
  • UHF, HF, VHF Marine Radios.
  • Shipboard Communication Cabinets.
  • Shipboard Alarms and Interior Communications (Safety, Warning Systems).
  • Fathometer and Depth Sounding Systems.
  • Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
  • Sonar Mission System (SMS).
  • Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Communications.
  • NIPRNET, SIPRNET, SI LAN. 

Required Education and Experience:

Desired Skills:
