Job description

Description
The Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. ABIM board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine or its specialties is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching students, residents, and/or fellows while engaged in clinical activities or serving as lecturer for divisional and/or school educational programs.
Clinical responsibilities may include working in the outpatient clinics and as an attending on the inpatient service within the hospitals at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and/or Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMC VAMC).
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include any aspect of basic science, clinical, translational, health policy, or health services research. The successful candidate should demonstrate a productive track record during post-doctoral research training with an ability to perform collaborative interdisciplinary science. As a new faculty member, the successful applicant will be expected to establish an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from government agencies, private foundations, and/or industry.
Selected applicants will hold an academic appointment in the Department of Medicine within the division of his/her specialty.
