Duties
Help

• GS-13: Supervise professional engineering work.
• GS-13: Lead interdisciplinary project teams.
• GS-13: Monitor project management lifecycles for area of responsibility.
• GS-13: Continuously communicate with customers, project stakeholders, and Federal agencies, as required.
• GS-13: Perform supervisory responsibilities including assigning work, evaluating performance, and counseling employees, etc.
• GS-13: May serve as an Administrative Contracting Officer and/or Administrative Agreements Officer, with the requisite Contracting certifications and warrants, if required by the position assignment.
• GS-14: Oversee/direct major engineering programs/projects.
• GS-14: Supervise professional engineering work.
• GS-14: Serve as spokesperson for assigned programs.
• GS-14: Keep all stakeholders informed of project operations.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) licensure MAY be required. Please submit a copy of your current, valid license with your application package.
• For the GS-13 grade level only: Registration as a Professional Architect MAY be required. Please submit a copy of your current, valid license with your application package.
• For the GS-14 grade level only: Position MAY require incumbent to obtain PMP certification within 24 months and maintain for the duration of the appointment.
• A current, valid driver's license MAY be required.

Qualifications
This job announcement will fill multiple vacancies at the full performance levels (FPLs) of GS-13 and GS-14. In your application, select the duty locations and corresponding FPL grade levels you want to be considered. Applicants selected at the FPL are not eligible for promotion to a higher grade without competition or a valid non-competitive eligibility. This is not a developmental job announcement.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. TO QUALIFY FOR THE FPL GS-13: Specialized Experience: One year of leading interdisciplinary project teams to execute complex technical objectives; managing and monitoring comprehensive project management lifecycles; and serving as a primary liaison to continuously communicate project status and resolve issues with customers, project stakeholders, and/or Federal agency representatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
In addition to Specialized Experience mentioned above, you MUST meet one or more of the individual occupational requirements (IOR) stated below for the GS-13 grade level (please click the link next to the corresponding series to view qualification requirements):
Basic Requirement for Architecture, series 0808: Architecture Series
Basic Requirement for Engineering, series 0800: Professional Engineering
Basic Requirement for Geologist, series 1350: Geology Series
TO QUALIFY FOR THE FPL GS-14: Specialized Experience: One year of serving as a supervisor managing, evaluating, and directing the work of a professional engineering and scientific workforce; acting as an authoritative spokesperson and technical representative for assigned programs to brief senior leadership, external partners, and regulatory bodies; and establishing comprehensive communication frameworks to keep all high-level stakeholders, agency officials, and public/private partners continuously informed of critical project operations, risks, and milestones. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
