Job description

Overview VTG is seeking Desk Officers to support our Client's challenging operational requirements at multiple locations in the Washington Metropolitan Area. What will you do? Ideal candidates are inquisitive, investigative and action-oriented with the ability to take initiative and deliver solutions to complex operational problems, while identifying new technical tools and capabilities.

Successful candidates are able to deal effectively and confidently with customer managers at all levels of responsibility. Desk Officers apply advanced knowledge and expertise of operations, operational tradecraft, and intelligence priorities when providing strategic guidance and operational case management. In addition, they are responsible for program management throughout the customer, from traditional operational activities to specialized initiatives.

They provide objective reviews of ongoing and potential operations and serve as the vital link between personnel in the field and the Intelligence Community. Do you have what it takes? Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 7-12 years of applicable experience (Level 3) 12-20 years of applicable experience (Level 4) 20+ years of applicable experience (Level 5) Cable writing experience Must possess and have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI clearance and polygraph at the time of application Familiarity with classified databases, including specific targeting tools Strong briefing and writing skills as well as the ability to work well with teams or individually with minimal supervision Regional and/or functional expertise in a geographic region of interest Initiative, creativity, technical excellence, and strong interpersonal and communication skills Self-starter who can multi-task and remain calm under pressure with the ability to work both independently and in a group Prior experience in supporting intelligence operations or familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives Desired Qualifications: Customer certification as a Desk Officer or Staff Operations Officer Foreign field experience from at least one overseas tour or extensive overseas TDY experience Experience in Intelligence Operations / Analysis / Support to Field Operations Experience identifying targeting leads through the exploitation of all-source databases Experience using customer databases to monitor field traffic and communicate with field offices
