Marklund in Elgin is hiring a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) for our Community Day Services!

Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered individual for the position of QIDP. This is a full-time position of Monday - Friday, 10AM - 6PM with on-call rotation and is based out of the Marklund Wasmond Center located in Elgin, IL. The starting salary for this position is $50,960. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.

It may be hard work sometimes, but it's more than rewarding. Every day I see the smiles on the resident's faces and I know I'm doing a good thing. Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations - the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities:
  • Create IPP schedule for residents and assist with overseeing classroom schedule
  • Develop, train, and implement Individual Program Plans for each resident on caseload.
  • Supervision of Caregivers regarding implementation of active treatment programming and documentation.
  • Maintain facility active treatment program in compliance with IDPA/IDPH regulations by completing necessary paperwork and training.
  • Monitor, implement, and/or change any and all behavior programs and safety devices as necessary.
  • In-service appropriate staff members on goals, positioning, active treatment, and equipment weekly.

Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services field
  • One year paid experience with developmentally disabled persons. Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal forms.
  • DHS QIDP
