Job Title : Ergonomics Engineer / Ergonomics Specialist

Location: Florence, SC

Duration : Long Term Contract


Job Summary

We are seeking an Ergonomics Engineer / Ergonomics Specialist to support manufacturing and assembly operations by identifying ergonomic risks, improving workstation and process design, and reducing musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of assembly workstations, manufacturing processes, and material-handling tasks.
  • Perform ergonomic risk assessments using RULA, REBA, NIOSH, and other standard tools.
  • Analyze operator posture, force, repetition, task frequency, and MSD risks.
  • Evaluate workstation layouts, tooling, equipment, work cells, and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify hazards and recommend improvements such as workstation redesign, height adjustments, assist devices, tooling changes, and process re-engineering.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Safety/EHS, and Engineering teams to integrate ergonomics into product and process design.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and productivity initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ergonomic, occupational health, and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain ergonomic assessment reports, risk registers, mitigation plans, and implementation documentation.
  • Track and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of ergonomic improvements.
  • Conduct training and coach operators and supervisors on proper posture, lifting techniques, safe work methods, and ergonomic best practices.
  • Use Digital Human Modeling (DHM) and digital ergonomic tools such as JACK, DELMIA, and Process Simulate.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives related to ergonomics and workplace design.
