Bring Your Commercial HVAC Expertise to a Team That Values Professionalism
Commercial customers depend on their heating and cooling systems to keep employees comfortable, operations moving, and buildings functioning properly. They need a technician who can diagnose complex equipment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of every service call.
At Astacio Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical, we're looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to provide service, repair, and preventive maintenance for a variety of commercial heating and cooling systems.
You'll work independently in the field while receiving support from a knowledgeable office and operations team. This is an opportunity for a skilled technician who values quality workmanship, professional customer relationships, and continued technical growth.
If you're dependable, technically strong, and ready to represent a trusted home and commercial services company, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Work on packaged rooftop units, split systems, chillers, heat pumps, boilers, and related commercial equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, system testing, and operational evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, hydronic, and control-system issues.
  • Clearly explain findings, recommended repairs, and next steps to customers.
  • Obtain customer authorization before performing additional work.
  • Collect payment on-site when appropriate.
  • Open and close jobs accurately within the electronic scheduling system.
  • Document arrival times, work performed, job completion, follow-up needs, and detailed service summaries.
  • Communicate parts, equipment, scheduling, and return-trip needs promptly to the office.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional vehicles and jobsites.
  • Take responsibility for assigned trucks, diagnostic tools, equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
  • Train apprentices in the field and lead by example through safe, professional work practices.
  • Attend required technical training, team meetings, and company meetings.
  • Protect company and customer information and maintain appropriate confidentiality.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, apprentices, and leadership.
  • Receive and implement coaching and feedback professionally.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous commercial HVAC service, maintenance, and repair experience.
  • Experience with packaged rooftop units, split systems, chillers, heat pumps, boilers, and related commercial systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, airflow, hydronic, combustion, and control systems.
  • Ability to independently manage service calls from diagnosis through completion.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to provide clear, complete, and timely service documentation.
  • Willingness and ability to train apprentices and less-experienced technicians.
  • Strong judgment, self-control, and respect for customer and company confidentiality.
  • Ability to accept and apply constructive feedback.
  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and electronic scheduling systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Applicable Connecticut HVAC trade license preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical work on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and in indoor and outdoor conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Performance-based earning opportunities
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays
  • Company-Provided Vehicle
  • Company Phone or Tablet
  • Uniforms Provided
  • Professional Diagnostic Tools and Equipment
  • Ongoing Paid Technical and Safety Training
  • Year-Round Work
  • Career Advancement Opportunities
  • Supportive, Team-Oriented Work Environment
What Success Looks Like

You'll document your work thoroughly, maintain professional jobsites and equipment, support the development of apprentices, and represent Astacio with integrity on every call.
