Job description

LKB Home Improvements is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to join our growing interior remodeling team. The ideal candidate will have experience building, assembling, installing, and repairing custom and pre-manufactured cabinetry. This position requires craftsmanship, precision, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and install custom cabinets, vanities, shelving, and other millwork.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and fabricate materials accurately using woodworking tools and equipment.
  • Install cabinets level, plumb, and securely while maintaining tight reveals and professional finishes.
  • Install cabinet hardware, trim, crown molding, fillers, toe kicks, and accessories.
  • Modify existing cabinetry when needed to accommodate project requirements.
  • Repair damaged cabinets and perform adjustments for proper door and drawer operation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area on every jobsite.
  • Communicate with the Crew Lead and Project Manager regarding project progress and any issues.
  • Protect customers' homes by using floor protection, dust containment, and proper cleanup procedures.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist with other interior remodeling tasks when needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cabinet making, finish carpentry, or woodworking preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with table saws, miter saws, routers, planers, drills, nail guns, and other woodworking equipment.
  • Strong measuring, layout, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work on ladders as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with custom cabinetry and built-in furniture.
  • Knowledge of laminate, hardwood, plywood, MDF, and cabinet-grade materials.
  • Experience installing soft-close hardware and specialty cabinet accessories.
  • Finish carpentry experience including trim, crown molding, and baseboards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve installation challenges efficiently.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and carry materials up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Safely operate power tools and woodworking machinery.
