About the role

Mater is seeking an experienced and values-driven Mission Integration Manager to join our team at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast in a permanent, full-time position.

This newly established senior leadership role will play a pivotal part in embedding Mater's Mission, Catholic identity and Mercy charism as we transition to a faith-based, for-purpose Catholic healthcare provider. Working closely with the General Manager and Chief of Mission, you'll help ensure Mission is central to strategy, decision-making, culture and the delivery of exceptional, compassionate healthcare.

This is a unique opportunity to shape Mission integration within a hospital environment while supporting leaders, teams and the wider community through a significant period of organisational change.

Salary: commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing

  • Provide strategic leadership for the integration of Mater's Mission, Vision, Values and Catholic identity across hospital life.
  • Enable and challenge senior leaders to consider Mission-aligned and ethical perspectives in business and operational decision-making.
  • Lead and facilitate formation programs that enable staff to engage with the spirit and values of the Mater Mission.
  • Build strong relationships with local Catholic, Parishes and other Catholic and ministry organisations.
  • Oversee Pastoral Care services, supporting a multidisciplinary approach to spiritual care that aligns with Mater's patient-centred care model.
  • Promote a spirituality of healing and wholeness across the hospital.
  • Develop and maintain systems, policies, programs and measures that demonstrate the impact of Mission on patient-centred care and the community.
  • Support leaders to develop Mission-aligned leadership practices, reflective practice and discernment in decision-making.
  • Provide advice, reports and presentations to the Chief of Mission and other key stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across Mater and with external professional, ministry and community networks.

About you

You are a committed Catholic and experienced leader who can confidently connect faith, mission and healthcare in a complex organisational environment. You'll bring the ability to inspire others, support people through change and translate Mater's Mission and values into meaningful leadership and care practices.

You'll bring:

  • Active involvement in the local Catholic community as a person of faith.
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to the Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health Organisations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the philosophy, Mission and values of Mater.
  • The ability to support people through significant transition and change.
  • Qualifications in Theology, Scripture, Ethics, Ministry or a related field, or a willingness to undertake further study.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the Catholic faith, the ethos of Catholic healthcare and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • The ability to integrate Catholic teachings into Mission and healthcare.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and change management skills.
  • Experience in, or a demonstrated understanding of, the health sector will be highly regarded.
