Job description

We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Integration Engineer to support the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This engineer will play a key role in integrating cloud services across Azure and Microsoft 365 GCC environments, enabling secure, scalable, and compliant solutions for development, testing, and enterprise modernization.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Azure administration, identity services, Microsoft 365, multitenant cloud environments, and crossfunctional engineering collaboration.

Candidate citizenship, clearance and location requirements/preferences:

  • Be a US Citizen or US Person who has lived in the United States for the past three (3) consecutive years
  • Holding a current Public Trust is preferred
  • Be local to the DC Metro area for onsite work if needed preferred

Primary Responsibilities


Cloud Integration & Engineering

  • Integrate Azure services and Microsoft 365 GCC/GCCHigh capabilities into enterprise environments to support application development, testing, and production readiness.
  • Configure and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and resource groups to support integrated cloud solutions.
  • Support hybrid identity environments, including Azure AD/Entra ID and AD Connect, ensuring reliable synchronization and access between onpremises and cloud systems.

Identity, Access & Security Integration

  • Implement identitydriven integration approaches using Entra ID, MFA, SSO, RBAC, and rolebased access models to ensure secure systemtosystem and usertosystem interactions.
  • Apply cloud security best practices across Azure and Microsoft 365 services to ensure proper governance, data protection, and compliance.
  • Support integration of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS resources across Azure commercial, GCC, and GCCHigh environments.

Engineering Collaboration & Automation

  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and engineering teams to design and test integrated Azure services and cloud solutions.
  • Automate cloud platform documentation and support workflows using Azure tools, scripting, and Power Platform automation.
  • Evaluate emerging Azure and SaaS technologies to support continuous improvement and integration opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and eight (8) years of general IT or IT engineering experience. Six (6) years of general IT or IT engineering experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Azure Administration Portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and ARM templates.
  • Handson experience supporting Azure resource management, monitoring usage, enforcing governance, and optimizing integrated cloud workloads.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure services, Microsoft 365, identity platforms, and cloud security configurations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating cloud services within HHS or similar federal agencies.
  • Certifications in Azure Administration, Azure Development, or Power Platform (Fundamentals/Associate/Developer/Architect).
  • Experience supporting or integrating solutions across Azure commercial, GCC, and GCCHigh environments.
  • Background in evaluating and implementing emerging Azure technologies, particularly those tied to identity, collaboration, and automation.
