Description:

SANYโ€™s Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce the opening of an Intervention Support Teacher position for the 2024-2025 academic year! We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply!

We need Teachers who will:

  • Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum; which is designed to meet the state's core educational standards
  • Knowledge of Response to Intervention (RTI)
  • Follows Response to Intervention (RTI) process (i.e. administering researched based interventions, progress monitoring)
  • Share data collected with stakeholders (classroom teacher, parents)
  • Tier 2 and 3 Interventions
  • Possess strong understanding of Common Core standards and state learning standards
  • Have the ability to modify/redesign/develop curriculum as needed
  • Collaborate with staff to determine charter's requirement for the instructional goals, objectives, and methods
  • Be ready to prepare students for the standardized tests relevant to the content area
  • Have excellent content knowledge and pedagogy
  • Welcome the use of analytics and data to help drive instruction and promote learning
  • Appreciate regular feedback, accountability and the rewards that come with doing a great job serving our students & communities
  • Have great classroom management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; Master's degree preferred; NYS Certification not required
  • Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus
  • Prior teaching experience preferred and novice teachers encouraged to apply!
  • Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education
