Job description

ABOUT US

Bug Shockers Pest Control is a three-generation, family owned and operated pest control company. We serve homes and businesses across the K, and we have built a 5.0-star reputation by being honest, showing up on time, and treating people the way we want to be treated.

We are hiring a full-time Pest Control Technician. If you like being outdoors, meeting new people, and solving a different problem at every stop, this is a good fit. No pest control experience is needed. We train you and we pay for your license.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Paid training. Earn while you learn. No experience necessary.
  • Company-paid pesticide license. We cover the cost of getting you licensed within your first 90 days.
  • 10 paid days off per year after your probationary period.
  • Paid holidays, including a three-day Thanksgiving closure and December 23 through 25.
  • Real nights and weekends. Limited nights, weekends, and holidays. Work hard during the week, then go enjoy your family.
  • Company vehicle to use during the workday.
  • Bonuses and recognition for great work.
  • Employee discount on pest control at your own home.
  • Room to grow. This is a career with a path, not just a job.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Drive a company vehicle along a daily route and arrive on time at every stop
  • Inspect homes and businesses for insect and rodent activity
  • Apply EPA-approved products using integrated pest management methods
  • Walk clients through what you found, what you did, and what happens next
  • Recommend the right solution based on what each property actually needs
  • Document every service accurately in our software
  • Stay in close communication with the office on scheduling, equipment, and supplies
  • Watch supply levels and let the office know what you need before you run out
  • Put safety first on every job, every time

WHAT YOU NEED

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Kansas pesticide license within 90 days of hire, which we pay for
  • Ability to read and follow chemical labels and safety data sheets
  • Ability to mix and apply products exactly as directed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own route
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather

Helpful, but not required

  • Prior pest control or related field service experience
  • Experience with CRM or route scheduling software
  • Familiarity with common Kansas pests

WHO DOES WELL HERE

  • You enjoy variety. No two properties are the same.
  • You do it right the first time. Nobody should have to ask you to come back.
  • You bring a good attitude, even on the hard days.
  • You take care of people, not just pests.
  • You hold yourself to your commitments.
  • You want to keep learning and take on more over time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

You must be able to perform these duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Lift, carry, and handle up to 65 lbs
  • Wear a Bug Shockers uniform and required personal protective equipment
  • Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity
  • Access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, and rooftops, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Work in varying weather conditions
