What is integrated logistics support?

Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is a management process used in defense and industrial projects to ensure that all logistics elements—such as maintenance, supply, training, and support equipment—are integrated throughout a system's lifecycle. It aims to optimize system availability, reduce costs, and improve reliability by coordinating these functions from design through disposal. Professionals in ILS often use tools like reliability analysis and lifecycle cost management to achieve these goals.
