Bon Secours Cardiovascular and Thoracic Specialists is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our premier CT Surgery team. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice at the top of your profession in a highly collaborative environment dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.

We are interviewing now for a skilled PA to play an integral role in the pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative care of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients.

Position Highlights
  • Schedule: Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Call: 1:2 rotation
  • Practice Setting: Hospital‑based and outpatient
  • Patient Population: Adults (18+), mix of inpatient and outpatient
  • Average Caseload:
    • Outpatient: 1–5 patients/day
    • Inpatient: 5–10 patients/day
  • EMR: Epic (inpatient and outpatient)
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients in the OR, ICU, and outpatient clinic settings.
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) for CABG procedures.
  • Assist in surgical cases, manage pre‑ and post‑operative care, and coordinate follow‑up with patients and families.
  • Collaborate closely with the attending surgeon, fellow PAs, nursing staff, and the broader care team to ensure seamless, high‑quality patient care.
  • Participate in call rotation and maintain readiness for emergent cases as required.
Qualifications
  • Open to an exceptional new grad with surgery and cardiac training rotations and interest in a career in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery, including proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting.
  • Training: Demonstrated competence in OR and ICU procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Proven ability to deliver compassionate, efficient, and thorough patient care.
  • Current NCCPA certification and Virginia PA license (or eligibility).
Compensation & Benefits
  • Up to $5,000 relocation reimbursement (over 50 miles)
  • Guaranteed base salary of $175,000 + up to 5% bonus for attainment of quality goals paid annually
  • 32 days ATO for holidays, CME, and other out‑of‑office time – front loaded (not accrued) and prorated based on start date
  • Up to 8 weeks for Parental Time Off – birth or adoption
  • Annual $3,000 CME allowance
  • 403b retirement savings plus matching on first 4%
