Jail Nurse - Make a Meaningful Impact in Your Community
The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Jail Nurse to provide essential healthcare services within the Manitowoc County Jail. This is a unique opportunity to use your clinical skills in a dynamic environment where your work directly supports the health, safety, and well-being of both inmates and staff.
What You'll Do:
  • Assess inmate health needs and deliver individualized care and case management
  • Provide primary nursing care and oversee medication administration
  • Review intake health screenings and communicate critical medical concerns to jail administration
  • Collaborate with dietary staff to address specialized nutritional needs
  • Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation
  • Train corrections staff on first aid, medication procedures, and communicable disease prevention
