Job description

Manage a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.

Handle matters involving Professional Liability, Tort & Liability Defense, and Workers' Compensation.

Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.

Conduct legal research to support litigation strategy and case development.

Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely completion of all litigation activities.

Maintain organized case files and documentation throughout the litigation process.

Courtroom & Litigation Support:

Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.

Take and defend fact witness and expert witness depositions.

Draft and argue dispositive motions.

Respond to discovery requests and manage all phases of the discovery process.

Represent clients in New Hampshire state and federal courts.

Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and developments.

Prepare interim status reports and provide ongoing legal updates.

Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, experts, and support staff to develop effective litigation strategies.

Maintain strong client relationships through professional and responsive communication.

Contribute to a collaborative team environment while independently managing assigned matters.

Professional Development & Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in meaningful, hands-on litigation work under the guidance of experienced attorneys.

Continuously develop litigation, advocacy, and courtroom skills.

Maintain compliance with firm policies, court rules, and ethical standards.

Perform additional duties and assignments as required to support business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school required.

Active admission to the New Hampshire State Bar required.

Minimum of one (1) year of civil litigation experience required (1–3 years preferred).

Experience practicing in both New Hampshire state and federal courts.

Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.

Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions.

Experience taking and defending fact witness and expert witness depositions.

Strong advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team.
