Job description

Job Title: Assistant Director

Location: Huntington Learning Center - Round Rock

Position Type: Full-time (In-Center Only)

Compensation: $40,000–$50,000 including bonus structure and benefits

About Huntington Learning Center

Founded in 1977 by Dr. Raymond and Eileen Huntington, Huntington Learning Center is the nation’s longest-running provider of supplemental education services. At our Cedar Park/North Austin location, we provide individualized academic support for K–12 students, including:

  • Academic skill building in reading, writing, math, and study skills

  • Subject tutoring across a range of grade levels and content areas

  • SAT/ACT and standardized test preparation

  • Our mission is simple: to give every student the best education possible.

Make an Impact While Growing Your Career

We’re looking for a driven, organized, and people-focused Assistant Center Director to help manage daily operations and support our admin team. You’ll be a key point of contact for families—keeping them informed, addressing their needs, and making sure their students are making real progress.

This is a fast-paced, multitasking role where you’ll wear many hats—from managing schedules and systems to working directly with students and parents. You'll join a passionate team committed to creating a positive, productive learning environment for all.

What You’ll Do

Student & Family Experience

  • Deliver one-on-one or small-group instruction in reading, writing, and math

  • Build strong relationships with students and families

  • Answer phones, respond to texts and emails, and manage walk-in inquiries

  • Handle customer service concerns with empathy and professionalism

  • Take tuition payments and explain program details to families

  • Facilitate new student onboarding and ensure consistent, high-quality service throughout the student life-cycle

Center Operations

  • Manage daily schedules for students and teachers, adapting quickly to last-minute changes

  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and tuition status

  • Process and track tuition payments and monthly invoices

  • Monitor office inventory and manage supplies

Team Support

  • Assist with student behavior management as needed

  • Help recruit and onboard new staff, and provide ongoing support to teachers

  • Participate in marketing initiatives and local outreach events

  • Conduct regular student progress check-ins and communicate updates to other admins

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Prior experience in education, tutoring, customer service, business admin, or related fields

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities

  • Able to switch between tasks and manage interruptions gracefully

  • Professionalism, warmth, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

  • Tech-savviness and ease navigating multiple systems

  • Comfortable using multiple digital platforms, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Calendly, payment processors, and internal proprietary systems

What We Offer

  • Health, dental, and disability insurance (starting Day 1)

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

  • 401(k) eligibility and performance-based bonus structure

  • Paid training and ongoing professional development

  • Annual cost-of-living salary adjustment

Join Our Mission-Driven Team

If you’re passionate about helping students succeed—and thrive in a role where every day is different—we’d love to meet you.
