Why is this Role Essential?
The Manager, Insurance Strategy plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive the coverage they need while maximizing reimbursement and supporting the organization's financial health. This position develops and leads enterprise-wide insurance strategies that improve patient coverage, reduce revenue leakage and bad debt, standardize insurance processes, and create scalable solutions that support Concerto's continued national growth.
What Will You Do?
  1. Insurance Strategy & Revenue Optimization
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide insurance strategies that improve patient coverage, reimbursement, and revenue cycle performance.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce reimbursement leakage, improve collections, and minimize insurance-related bad debt.
  • Analyze insurance trends and performance metrics to recommend strategic improvements.
  • Partner with Finance, Billing, and Operations to improve financial outcomes and reimbursement performance.
  1. Coverage Optimization
  • Design and implement programs that maximize patient insurance coverage and identify uninsured or underinsured patients.
  • Develop standardized insurance verification, eligibility, and coverage monitoring processes.
  • Improve workflows related to Medicare, Medicaid, dual eligibility, supplemental insurance, and other coverage opportunities.
  • Ensure insurance changes are identified and communicated to support accurate billing and reimbursement.
  1. Operational Excellence
  • Standardize insurance policies, SOPs, workflows, KPIs, dashboards, and quality assurance practices across all markets.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex insurance, eligibility, authorization, and payor issues.
  • Develop scalable processes that support organizational growth, acquisitions, and continuous operational improvement.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Clinical Leadership, Intake, Finance, Billing, Operations, and skilled nursing facility partners to improve insurance processes.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, facility personnel, and external stakeholders on complex insurance matters when needed.
  • Support documentation and compliance initiatives that strengthen reimbursement and audit readiness.
  1. Leadership & Program Development
  • Build the infrastructure for a scalable Insurance Strategy function.
  • Develop training materials, best practices, and standardized documentation.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and leading future Insurance Strategy team members as the department grows.

What's Required?
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance, ESRD reimbursement, and coordination of benefits.
  • Experience developing cross-functional processes, analyzing data, and improving financial performance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting multi-state healthcare operations and leading projects preferred.
