Job description


The Business Area Manager works with the Director(s) of Business Development to promote the growth and sustainability of Life Flight Network service lines through proactive, industry-leading service delivery and customer education; while promoting exceptional customer experiences.

A Business Area Manager must hold an operational position with LFN. This requirement may be waived if applicant has significant experience in air medical as related to business, area outreach and development The Business Area Manager will maintain an operational position consisting of one shift per pay period. Operational proficiency as outlined in the operational position job function such as Flight RN, Flight Paramedic, HEMS Pilot, etc. will be maintained in the manager's respective specialty.

Applicable to the operational requirements of this position, the manager will also be subject to the Crew Safe Weight Policy. In the event a manager exceeds the weight limit, they will be allowed to assume all administrative responsibilities until flight status is resumed. All other requirements of the Crew Safe Weight Policy apply to this position.

The Business Area Manager will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate.

*Candidates may be eligible to receive up to $10,000 in Relocation Assistance, depending on the distance of the relocation*

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, aviation management, business administration or a related field preferred. Will substitute years of experience for years of education.
  • 2-3 years managerial experience in EMS, Air Medical, Healthcare or related field preferred
  • Experience with air medical transport is strongly preferred
  • Meets minimum qualifications of applicable job specialty, with operational background preferred
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including outstanding written and verbal communication with peers, patients, families, customers and the community
  • Knowledge of business development specific to healthcare, air medical or EMS environment preferred
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy Requirements and able to travel whenever to wherever business needs necessitate
  • Must reside within 60 miles or 60-minute commute of designated service area, unless prior written exemption is approved by CBO
  • The Business Area Manager will maintain an operational position consisting of 24 hours of operational time per pay period, unless prior written exemption is approved by CBO. Written exemptions will be reviewed annually and may be approved temporarily or permanently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Teams applications
  • Available to work on short notice in the event of staffing/scheduling issues and business development needs, including weekends, holidays and evenings
