We are seeking a strategic and skilled professional to join our team as the Senior Manager of Commodities & Hedging. In this impactful role, you will contribute to the direction and performance of our commodities research and market analysis, providing insights that inform critical business decisions. You will support the development and execution of risk management strategies while collaborating closely with leadership to refine reporting and analytical capabilities. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, global food industry environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct fundamental and technical market research on commodities relevant to Smithfield.

  • Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions and share findings with stakeholders.

Risk Management & Hedging Strategy:

  • Support the development and execution of hedging strategies across various commodity exposures.

  • Assist in trade execution, position management, and reporting.

  • Provide insights on market drivers to inform risk management.

Data Aggregation & Communication:

  • Gather critical data to aid in market strategy development.

  • Present findings to stakeholders through impactful reports and presentations.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to foster professional development.

  • Collaborate across business segments to deliver timely market intelligence.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Effective communication and decision-making abilities.

The expected pay range for this position is $140,000 - $182,500 annually.

Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of thesalary or hourly wagethe company reasonably expects to pay for a positionat the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate's qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
