Job description

This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) serving as a Insurance Projects Specialist (Political Risk Insurance Underwriter). You will manage the most complex, sensitive, or precedent-setting insurance projects that involve significant risk and judgments of insurable interests; requiring expertise in underwriting, country risk analysis, and establishing and documenting terms for insurability.Qualifications:Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that includes:
1) Completing the full range of origination of international political risk insurance or project finance transactions;
2) Conducting due diligence on political risks related to international finance transactions;
3) Developing and maintain key relationships with new and existing clients to source business development opportunities; AND
4) Conducting financial and credit analysis and negotiating legal agreements.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
