Job description

Seeking a Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate commercial door, dock, and security product installations from an Olathe, Kansas office. The Project Manager owns project schedules, budgets, materials, and vendor coordination to deliver work on time and within approved cost. This Project Manager role suits candidates with construction or installation project management experience who can communicate confidently with clients, installers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities - Assistant Project Manager

  • Review project plans and specifications to identify materials, installer requirements, and vendor schedules
  • Order materials, monitor submittals, and coordinate deliveries to keep installations on track
  • Own project financial performance and deliver work within approved budget and timeline
  • Present product recommendations and project solutions to customers, managers, and stakeholder groups
  • Track job progress, resolve issues, and complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications - Assistant Project Manager

  • Construction Management degree, or 6+ months experience in a construction or project management role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer relations, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple active projects
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications - Assistant Project Manager

  • Experience using ERP systems (IFS) and/or Procore project management software
  • Background in commercial doors, loading dock equipment, or security/access control installation
  • Familiarity with reading construction drawings, submittals, and specifications
  • Prior vendor and subcontractor coordination experience
  • Valid driver's license for periodic job site visits

Physical Requirements - Assistant Project Manager

  • On-site role based in Olathe, KS; primarily office-based with periodic job site visits
  • Sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds (samples, materials, files)
  • Local travel to job sites and customer locations as needed
  • Standard daytime shift, Monday through Friday
