Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft 365 Global Administrator / Defender Expert to oversee our complete Microsoft 365 tenant while serving as a key part of the enterprise security team. In this role, your core responsibility is to champion our security posture by managing, configuring, and maintaining the Microsoft 365 Defender suite, including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365 and Cloud Apps. While threat detection, incident response, and Kusto Query Language (KQL) threat hunting remain your primary daily focus, you will also hold Global Administrator privileges to manage the end-to-end M365 collaboration stack. This is an individual contributor role with a growing division of Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, and offers excellent benefits along with opportunities to continue your career growth and strengthen your expertise in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • This dual focus on cybersecurity administration and defense requires you to seamlessly transition from investigating security alerts to managing core tenant infrastructure, configuring secure access policies in Exchange Online, enforcing governance in SharePoint and OneDrive, and orchestrating endpoint compliance through Microsoft Intune.
  • The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, and cross-platform endpoint security, alongside advanced proficiency in PowerShell automation for full-tenant management.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking skills to connect isolated alerts into recognizable attack patterns, clear communication skills for documentation, and a calm, problem-solving mindset under high-pressure scenarios are essential for success.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in an enterprise environment; or 7+ years of enterprise-level cybersecurity experience along with relevant training and certifications.
