The Auto Insurance Specialist I is primarily responsible for processing basic insurance transactions and auto policies.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • This position processes basic insurance transaction and auto policies.

  • Processes auto and basic insurance transactions under the supervision of a more senior licensed broker.

  • Identifies client needs and provides information on basic insurance products such as risk coverage, benefits and other policy features best suited to meet the client's needs; works with clients to manage and reduce their risk.

  • Recommends and implements a client's insurance coverage, premiums and collects payment; promotes Brio/Interlake Insurance products and services.

  • Support the achievement of department and organizational goals as well as actively participates in regular staff meetings.

  • Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff to ensure a friendly and efficient work environment.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to organizational policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality, security and fraud prevention.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 1 or working towards Level 1 Brokers license

  • Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure

  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions

  • Knowledge of Brio Insurance products and services

  • Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of risk management within the insurance industry

  • Proficient computer skills
