Job description

A Field Service Engineer contributes to the success of Hartwig by keeping our customers' CNC machine tools running at peak operating levels by performing repairs. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on our team to repair, inspect and troubleshoot their equipment.Main responsibilities of this full-time role based in the Wichita, KS area include: Conduct efficient and timely preventive maintenance to include changing fluids, filters and checking accuracy of calibrationsRecommend maintenance modifications and improvements to machines, equipment and processesTrain and instruct customers on preventive maintenance best practicesResponsible to help with any service tool tracking on tools utilized.Schedule preventive maintenance customer visitsIncrease field sales by promoting the PM program and other opportunitiesConduct inventory countsAbility to complete necessary tasks in our service software and timecard system on a daily basisTraveling to customer sites, usually within 2 hours from home, with occasional overnight travelQualifying Skills:Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:Above average mechanical and electrical aptitudeRelevant mechanical or preventive work experience, inspection and/or repair experienceDemonstrated commitment to customer satisfactionExcellent attention to detail and follow through Ability to work independently, a go getter that finds the next customer that needs our help Someone who doesn't mind getting dirty or working in hot/cold environmentsGood driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurabilityThe Organization and Our BenefitsOur team of over 200 professionals throughout the U.S. is dedicated to helping manufacturers control and power the growth of their business.
