Job description

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Inspect and review property
  • Assess liability exposures
  • Assist in special projects to determine the Company’s approach to new risks/exposures
  • Facilitate direct contact with insureds and agency force in form of explaining Company philosophy on individual risks
  • Complete inspection reports in a timely manner
  • Make presentations to the agency force

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

  • Action to be taken with regard to a specific account – binding or rejecting
  • Acceptance or rejection of an account with unusual exposures
  • Direction Company should take with regard to a new type of operation
  • Remain current with changes in the Company, industry and regulatory environment
  • Maintain good working relationship between the home office & field force
  • Must obtain and maintain P&C Agent License
  • The employee must be able to organize and prioritize work; must have the knowledge of office administration procedures and able to operate most standard office equipment.  The employee must pay attention to detail in composing and proofing materials.  Must be self-motivated with initiative and ability to make decisions and accept responsibility.  Be flexible to respond to unexpected situations that require immediate attention.  A high level of confidentiality is to be maintained by the employee

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • College degree or minimum of five years P&C underwriting, P&C claims or P&C sales experience and completion of AU, API, or other insurance related designation required
  • Continued involvement in professional education required
  • Completion of P&C Agent License within 90 days
  • Completion of additional CPCU/IIA designation required within 5 years.  Additional insurance related designations will not be required if significant progress toward the CPCU designation has been achieved.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license and meet the driving requirements of GFBMIC
  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals and other documents as required.  Excellent telephone, public relations and oral/written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Must possess basic skills with personal computer; experience with Windows, word processing, PowerPoint, Access database, spreadsheets and internet.  Access to GFB system(s) and functional access within those systems will be assigned as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
