Seasonal Field Inspection TechnicianClarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a Field Inspection Technician who will be responsible for applying larvicide to mosquito breeding, in an effort to control mosquito populations. Hands-on training will be provided in all areas, no experience needed. This position is perfect for someone who is interested in public health, sustainability, learning different aspects of mosquito operations and enjoys working outdoors. If this sounds like the opportunity that you've been looking for, apply today!WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY Starting wage of $16/hrAverage of 40 hours per week6:00 am to 4:30pm Monday- Thursday (Fridays as needed, end times may vary based on business needs)Supports the summer seasonal operations (generally April - September)Required to use company vehicle, however, a personal vehicle may be used based on location/commute, and a .76 mileage reimbursement will be providedQUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A FIELD INSPECTION TECHNICIANQUALIFICATIONSBe 18 years of age or olderHave a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving recordMust be self-motivatedPossess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skillsCommunicate effectively in English in both written and verbal formsRequired to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)Comfortable walking through various and often challenging terrain such as uneven rocks, forested areas, fields, and areas of dense vegetationAbility to work independentlyAbility to remove all jewelry in compliance to company policyReliable personal vehicle (if applicable)Provide proof of vehicle insurance, if using personal vehicleMay need ability to bend, lift, and wear a 50-75lb backpack for extended periods of timeWilling to learn other aspects of the company operationsRESPONSIBLITIESPerform work in the field independently upon successful completion of trainingDriving company or personal vehicle throughout the day to and from work sitesComfortable working in various and sometimes challenging terrain such as steep slopes, wet grass, mud, rocky terrain, etc.Route and drive to potential mosquito breeding sitesInspect bodies of water, collect and label samples of mosquito larvaApply treatment to mosquito breeding sites by hand or backpackBeing proficient with smartphones by utilizing the provided smartphone for navigation to work sites, daily communication and logging workCommunicate with residents reporting standing water and be able to communicate to the general public about what it is that we doSubmit documents in a timely mannerAre you a student?
