Position Overview:ย
As our Field Inspector, you will serve as the Engineerโs primary field contact, communicating with contractors, franchise utilities, municipal representatives, general public, and our clients. Your primary obligation is to ensure successful implementation of our engineering designs; ensuring construction complies with the design and municipal standards and specifications. In addition, the following responsibilities are required for this role:ย ย
Duties and Responsibilities:ย
- Reviewย andย understandingย ofย engineering design drawings andย other technical documentationย forย variousย site developmentย and capital worksย projects.ย
- Perform fieldย observations to ensure compliance withย theย standards andย specificationsย as well as other contractual obligations.ย ย
- Prepare daily,ย weekly,ย and monthly inspection reports as required.ย
- Perform ESC inspectionsย andย reports as required.ย ย
- Review and understandย theย constructionย contractsย andย conductย contractย administrationย by referring to and enforcing the contractual termsย throughout constructionย and post construction.ย ย
- Reviewย contractor invoicingย and prepareย monthly progress payments.ย ย
- Liaise with clients, municipal staff,ย contractors,ย andย residentsย (general public).ย
- Attend meetings with clients, contractors,ย and municipal staff andย makeย notes and recordsย for project documentation and see through the completion of such action items in a timely manner.ย
- Involvement with the review of draft and final copies of the as-constructed drawings to ensure that the information shown accurately reflects the work performed in the field.ย
- Assist Project Manager in preparingย tenders, costย estimates,ย and project schedules.ย ย
- Conductย CCC and FAC inspections, prepare applicationsย including security reductions, and ensure deficiencies are documented and rectified forย project close-out.ย ย
- Otherย field-relatedย duties,ย as necessary.ย ย
ย
Skills andย Qualifications:ย
- A minimumย ofย 3 yearsโ experienceย as aย fieldย inspectorย of civil constructionย (Earthworks, utilities,ย andย surface improvements and other related infrastructure)ย ย
- Registered or qualified to register as a Technicianย orย Technologist withย ASETย isย an asset.ย ย
- Possess knowledge ofย localย municipal construction standards and specifications.ย
- Effective communicationย skillsย areย criticalย to this role.ย ย
- Strong safety mindsetย withย adherence toย Company, Contractor,ย &ย OH&Sย standardsย &ย regulations.ย
- Professional, positiveย attitude.ย ย
- Ability toย problem-solveย first, in a time-sensitive environment.ย
- Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.ย
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet firm deadlines.ย
- Must have valid Provincial Driverโs License with clean drivers abstract.ย
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs,ย includingย Microsoft Office, etc.ย ย
