Job description

Our client, a growing Houston-area law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support their attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or a paralegal certificate, as well as 4 or more years of litigation experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Gather, organize, and maintain case-related documents, records, and information from clients, witnesses, experts, and third parties.
  • Conduct legal research, including reviewing statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents.
  • Draft legal correspondence, reports, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents for attorney review.
  • Prepare and file court documents in accordance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
  • Organize exhibits, trial notebooks, mediation binders, arbitration materials, and other litigation support documents.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions.
  • Prepare supporting documentation and maintain case files throughout the litigation process.
  • Interview clients and witnesses to obtain relevant facts and documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and document requests.
  • Review legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and factual consistency.
  • Coordinate case calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
  • Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree and/or a Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 or more years of professional experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Experience with healthcare insurance collections is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with legal case management and document management software is a plus.
