What does an insurance claims inspector do?

An Insurance Claims Inspector is responsible for investigating insurance claims to determine the extent of an insurance company's liability. They review documentation, inspect property or vehicles, interview claimants and witnesses, and assess damage or loss. Their goal is to ensure that claims are valid and to help prevent fraud, while making fair and accurate assessments for payouts. They often work for insurance companies but may also be independent adjusters.

Job description

Advosy is expanding our outside sales and roof inspection team and we’re looking for driven, people-oriented individuals who want a hands-on role with real growth in a stable industry.

This position blends field sales, customer service, and basic roof inspections. No roofing or sales experience is required — we provide full training on storm damage, insurance claims, and how to confidently guide homeowners through the process.

If you enjoy being active, talking with people, and working toward clear goals, this role is a strong fit.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Work in the field as an outside sales / field sales representative
  • Prospect and generate leads through direct sales, networking, canvassing, and door-to-door (D2D) outreach
  • Perform basic roof inspections: climb a ladder, access the roof, take photos, and document storm damage
  • Identify wind, hail, and water damage and explain findings to homeowners
  • Educate homeowners on insurance policy basics and the claims process
  • Set proper expectations and connect homeowners with our licensed adjuster team
  • Act as a professional brand ambassador for Advosy
  • Manage follow-ups, appointments, and multiple homeowner projects with leadership support
  • No construction, hammering, or labor work — this is a sales, communication, and inspection role
Training & Support
  • Hands-on, in-field roof inspection training
  • Education on roofing systems, storm damage, and insurance claims
  • Shadowing experienced roof inspectors and sales associates
  • Daily team coaching and leadership mentorship
  • Clear development path into senior sales, leadership, and management roles

Most successful inspectors started with no sales or roofing background.

Who Thrives in This Role
  • People from retail sales, hospitality, restaurants, customer service, or field-based roles
  • Competitive, sports-minded individuals
  • Strong communicators who like educating and helping others
  • Self-motivated and coachable professionals
  • Former athletes often excel in our team-driven environment
Growth & Earning Opportunity

This is an entry-level outside sales role with long-term career potential.

Inspectors who consistently help just four homeowners per week through the insurance claims process often earn $120,000+ in their first year, with additional bonuses tied to performance and advancement.

Growth is based on results, leadership, and consistency — not tenure.

What We’re Looking For
  • No sales experience required
  • Customer-facing experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working outdoors and able to climb a ladder
  • Strong work ethic and professional communication skills
  • Interest in leadership, management, or long-term growth
  • Bilingual candidates strongly preferred (Se habla español)
