Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401 Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Annual Budgeted Amount: $60,320 Benefits: Participation in the County's group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense. Job Description
Nature of Work:
Perform specialized administrative and medical insurance billing work to support the financial operations of the dental clinics and reproductive health and immunization services provided at the Department of Health's community health clinics. Process and submit insurance claims, post payments, review and resolve denied or unpaid claims, verify insurance coverage and claim status, maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with Medicaid, commercial insurance and healthcare billing regulations. Provide backup billing support for the Behavioral Health clinics and assist with credentialing and contracting work with insurers. Requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of dental and medical billing practices, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
Experience:
Claims submission, Medicaid claim processing, denials and appeals, explanation of benefits (EOB) posting.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of experience in dental billing. Medicaid billing experience strongly preferred. One year of clinical billing. Prior credentialing experience.
