Western Wisconsin Health is looking for a full-time Insurance Clerk (1.0 FTE) to join the Business Office. The Insurance Clerk is responsible processing billing claims (governmental, non-governmental and private pay), as well as resolving any billing questions and concerns for patients. A typical day involves juggling a variety of duties while putting the needs of patients first. The successful applicant must understand the basic and major medical coverage plans, such as the Fee-for-Service Plans, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO's), Point-of-Service Plans (PPO's), as well as Medicare and Medicaid in a RHC/CAH setting. All of this is done to support the organization's mission while living our values.

Minimum Qualifications:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Medicare Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic billing
- Experience with Epic
Other Qualifications:
- Provide crucial conversations and feedback to staff based on performance
- Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business and patient information
- Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
- Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, continuous improvement, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Ability to anticipate, understand, and manage patient expectations and provide consistent delivery of services
- Clearly and effectively convey information to patients
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently
- Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities, able to acknowledge when commitments are not met, and take appropriate steps to fulfill responsibility
- Ability to analyze, identify, and solve problems while using sound judgment
Work schedule:
- 1.0 FTE - 80 hours per biweekly pay period
- Monday - Friday 8 am 4:30 pm
