Job description

The Quality Control Manager ensures that all maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities performed by LCI meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for auditing the quality of work on the production floor, verifying documentation accuracy, supporting Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCAs), and ensuring continuous improvement throughout the operation. The Quality Control Manager serves as a key liaison between Quality Assurance, Safety, Engineering, and Production teams to maintain operational excellence in an FAA- and EASA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work Quality Auditing:
    Conduct daily audits of maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance with LCI procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards (FAA, EASA, OEM).
  • Documentation Control:
    Review and monitor work packages, Non-Routine (NR) cards, and inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformity prior to final approval and return to service.
  • Training and Competency Development:
    Identify training needs for Quality Control Inspectors and production personnel. Coordinate training activities with the QA Manager to maintain personnel qualifications and ensure awareness of current quality and regulatory standards.
  • RCCA and Continuous Improvement:
    Collaborate with the Safety Manager and Engineering teams to investigate quality issues, support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives, and verify that corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
  • Compliance Oversight:
    Ensure adherence to all regulatory and customer requirements, internal quality systems, and maintenance procedures under Part 145.
  • Leadership and Team Support:
    Provide leadership and mentorship to QC Inspectors, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement across all shifts.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    Prepare and present quality performance metrics, audit findings, and compliance reports to senior management, recommending process enhancements where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    * Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    * Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) quality control or assurance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Certifications/Licenses: * FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred. * Knowledge of FAA Part 145 Repair Station regulations required. * Familiarity with EASA and other international quality standards a plus.
  • Skills and Competencies: * Strong working knowledge of maintenance documentation, work packages, and inspection procedures. * Excellent communication and leadership skills. * Proficiency in MS Office and MRO software systems (e.g., AVSight, Quantum, or equivalent). * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
