JLL is seeking an experienced Insulation Technician to support a premier pharmaceutical life sciences facility. This role demands precision, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will execute complex insulation installations, replacements, and maintenance across GMP-classified environments and mechanical systems. This position requires flexibility for on-call response and the ability to deliver exceptional service in a mission-critical manufacturing setting. Diligent training will be provided to ensure support of successful execution of assigned tasks.

Working Environment:

This position operates within a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, and office complex. The role requires navigation of controlled environments and adherence to stringent pharmaceutical industry protocols.

What your day-to-day will look like

Essential Functions

Technical Execution & Compliance:

  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate supply list for procurement

  • Execute professional removal, installation, and repair of insulation and fire-stopping systems on industrial equipment, piping networks, ductwork, and mechanical infrastructure within GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

  • Interpret and apply technical specifications from engineering drawings, ensuring all work meets regulatory standards and site-specific requirements

  • Precision-fit insulation around complex obstructions and fabricate protective coverings to exact specifications

  • Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols, GMP guidelines, and site regulations without exception

  • Execute safe removal and disposal of existing insulation materials in strict accordance with environmental and safety regulations

  • Perform precise measurement, cutting, and installation of insulation materials across walls, ceilings, and mechanical systems

  • Apply advanced fastening techniques using tape, mechanical fasteners, staples, or screws as specified

  • Achieve timely completion of assignments according to defined SLA's; subject to regular quality audits.

  • Execute immediate site restoration following all work, including thorough cleanup and proper material storage

Project & Resource Management:

  • Efficiently mobilize tools, equipment, and materials for each assignment

  • Maintain professional-grade tool inventory and request supplies as needed to ensure operational readiness

Preventative Maintenance & Documentation:

  • Conduct comprehensive preventive maintenance programs with minimal disruption to critical manufacturing operations

  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all repairs, modifications, and system changes in centralized CMMS platform

  • Proactively identify equipment deficiencies and material requirements, escalating concerns to Facility Management with detailed assessments

  • Develop and recommend process improvements to enhance preventive maintenance procedures and drive cost-savings and efficiencies

  • Work in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cleanroom environments, consistently following GMP protocols and site-specific SOPs

  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and incident forms with accuracy and in accordance with documentation standards

  • Strong documentation skills and willingness to support compliance audits and performance metrics

Other core responsibilities

  • Demonstrate exemplary adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and pharmaceutical manufacturing standards

  • Adherence to JLL/Client safety policies and all relevant regulatory requirements

  • Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions, including JLL/Client safety policies and all regulatory and legal requirements

  • Interact with client representatives in a professional manner, demonstrating strong communication skills and a positive, service-oriented attitude

  • Participate in performance reviews and audits based on workmanship quality, safety, and compliance metrics

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship.

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in general construction, maintenance or insulation installation and repair within commercial, manufacturing or professional environments

  • Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.

  • Demonstrated mastery of facility mechanical systems and insulation technologies

  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Other requirements

  • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.)

  • Good basic math skills

  • Conscientious attention to detail

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface across all organizational levels and with Client Key Stakeholders

  • Documented track record of delivering superior internal and external customer service

  • Self-directed work ethic with strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Physical requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess or willingness to earn OSHA 10/30, hazardous material handling, or similar certifications

  • GMP pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred and highly valued

  • Availability for on-call response to support critical facility operations

Estimated compensation for this position:

52,000.00 - 68,640.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
