Crew Lead (In Field)

Position Type: Full-time, hourly position eligible for overtime.

MA Warehouse Locations (where trucks launch): Sutton, Woburn, Whitman, Wareham, Springfield

Compensation: $23 per hour – Potential for additional $850 per week in incentives or higher for top performers (Approximately $91,840 annual)

Job Summary:

The Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of 1-2 installers and ensuring that insulation installation projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. They provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team while also actively participating in installation tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervision and Coordination:
    • Lead and direct a team of insulation technicians in the execution of insulation projects.
    • Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and ensure that project timelines are met.
    • Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and support to team members as needed.
    • Report any job or employee issues to management.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Inspect completed insulation installations to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Identify and address any deficiencies or issues in the installation process.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks throughout the project to maintain consistency and excellence in workmanship.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

  • Customer Relations:
    • Communicate with customers to understand project requirements and expectations.

  • Driving & Vehicle Operation:
    • Safely operate company-owned vehicles and trucks in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
    • Successfully complete all required driver training prior to operating a company vehicle and comply with all ongoing training, safety, and compliance requirements.
    • Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any safety, mechanical, or operational concerns in accordance with company procedures.
    • Maintain eligibility to drive by holding a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated and, when required, a valid DOT Medical Certificate.
    • Operate company vehicles only when properly authorized, trained, and insured under the company’s motor vehicle insurance program.
    • Immediately notify management of any changes to driving eligibility, including but not limited to license status, driving record, medical certification, or insurance eligibility.
    • Refrain from operating company vehicles at any time when training, insurance authorization, licensure, or DOT medical certification requirements are not met.
    • While Crew Leads are the preferred designated drivers, employees in this role may be required to drive company vehicles when operational needs require and when all eligibility, training, and compliance requirements are satisfied.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Mass Save Crew Lead and Lead Safe Certifications.
  • 4-6 months of Mass Save installation experience.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to construction work.
  • Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces. The employee may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, and must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, and move up and down stairs safely.
