Job Summary
As an Insulation & Air Quality Apprentice at Hoffmann Brothers in Nashville, you will play a key supporting role on our new insulation and duct cleaning team. Working alongside the Insulation & Air Quality Lead, you will help install blown-in attic insulation and perform residential duct cleaning, learning hands-on techniques, proper safety practices, and quality standards along the way. This is a great entry point into a growing trade, with a clear path to advance into a Lead role as you build experience and take on more responsibility. You will work closely with customer-experienced coordinators and dispatchers to ensure seamless service execution. This position offers outstanding career growth and the opportunity to make a lasting impact as you help establish and grow one of the newest service lines at Hoffmann Brothers' fastest-growing location.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Lead Installer with all phases of blown-in attic insulation installation.
• Assist with whole-home duct cleaning, including setting up and operating vacuum and agitation equipment under supervision.
• Help prepare job sites by protecting customer property and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
• Carry, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Assist with attic inspections, noting ventilation issues, air leaks, and moisture concerns for the Lead to review.
• Help clean and reassemble supply and return vents, grilles, and register covers.
• Learn to measure attic spaces and calculate insulation quantities needed for each project.
• Clean and maintain job-site tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with homeowners throughout the job.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
• 0-2 years of experience in construction, trades, or general labor (insulation or duct cleaning experience a plus, but not required).
• Willingness to learn insulation installation and duct cleaning techniques from an experienced Lead.
• Ability to work safely in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn a hands-on trade.
• Willingness to take direction and work closely as part of a two-person crew.
Preferred Requirements
• Previous experience in HVAC, construction, or home services (highly desirable but not required).
• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Service Titan experience.
• OSHA 10 safety certification.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in hot, dusty, and confined attic/crawlspace environments.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
