Description

Lakeside Renovation & Design is looking to hire a dedicated and experienced remodeling carpenter who is looking to continue to grow and hone their craft. Our ideal candidate will have a base knowledge of all aspects of residential construction as well as broad experience using industry standard construction tools and installing the latest construction materials to product best practice. Candidate must have the ability to manage day in and day out customer expectations, keep a safe and clean jobsite, and manage a team of 1 to 3 additional carpenters.    


Reports to: Assigned Project Manager 


Job Summary: Lead Carpenters are responsible for coordinating and completing the work of a job with an assigned crew according to a scope and schedule drafted by the Project Manager while simultaneously delivering Lakesides Values and Mission to redeem the culture and experience of the construction industry.  

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Follow daily communication from Project Manager regarding job specific tasks and instructions  
  • Complete assigned tasks each day and communicate results to Project Manager   
  • Design and install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation   
  • Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures  
  • Install tile for both flooring and backsplash
  • Show a willingness to learn and grow in carpentry ability and knowledge as well as product installation
  • Show a willingness to train and supervise laborers and apprentices
  • Preferred proficiency reading blueprints and designs to work to specification prepared by architects and building code recommendations
  • Use proper materials and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Additional duties not listed in the job description may be assigned

Requirements

 Qualifications:  

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to lift job site equipment
  • Must be able to climb a ladder
  • Must be able to handle heavy labor
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check (or have proper medical card)
  • Must be willing to commute to jobs within the St. Louis Metropolitan area
