Job Description/Essential Functions: Bevilacqua Research Corporation (BRC) is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Small Business based in Huntsville, Alabama incorporated in 1992. BRC provides “best-value” technical and management solutions to a diverse government and commercial customer base in the following key business areas: test & evaluation, systems analysis & integration, security & intelligence, and R&D. The Test Instrumentation Engineer will: * Perform setup and operation of data acquisition systems. Duties includes coordinating transducer installation, writing technical procedures to be performed by instrumentation technicians, calibrating signal conditioning hardware, generating noise and tolerance reports, and operation of the data acquisition system during structural testing. * Experience with data acquisition techniques including extensive knowledge of common sensor types including strain gauges (pressure), thermocouples (temperature), load cells (force), and LVDTs (displacement). Responsibilities: * Coordination with NASA project level customers across organizations to ensure mission success. * Work with a diverse team of civil servants and contractors to design, develop, setup, and perform structural testing on space flight qualification hardware, and other mission critical hardware. * Participate in a Beyond Zero Safety Culture, attend safety meetings, task meetings, design reviews, and test readiness reviews as requested to support ESSCA and customer requirements. * Develop and deliver reports and presentations as requested to support ESSCA and customer requirements via Power Point and other various software packages. * Perform safety and certification training to support ESSCA and customer requirements. * Familiarity with OSHA standards. * Excellent verbal and writing skills. Minimum Requirements: BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, with at least 5 years of experience in data acquisition.    The ideal candidate will be an Engineer with a strong sampling of the following skills and a desire to learn in depth: * Experience with data acquisition techniques including extensive knowledge of common sensor types including strain gauges (pressure), thermocouples (temperature), load cells (force), and LVDTs (displacement). * Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications. * Basic instrumentation application - utilizing strain gauges, thermocouples, and displacement devices. * Familiarity with Machine Vision Image Processing/Correlation concepts and methods. * Experience with National instruments LabVIEW development software and or MATLAB for instrumentation acquisition and control. * Code generation in Windows or Linux operating systems. * Software quality control using QT or GTest libraries. * Raspberry Pi/Arduino, Python or C#/C++. * National Instruments Hardware. * Desire to conduct detailed hands-on work in a Lab testing environment on sub scale models to full scale structures in some of NASA’s largest indoor and outdoor test facilities. * Operation or development of Control Systems including feedback control loops.
