Weyerhaeuser's (Engineered Lumber Products) Timberstrand® manufacturing Plant, located on beautiful Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario, has an immediate opening for a permanent Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor. Our plant manufactures the high strength engineered wood product Timberstrand® in a 24/7 operations, non-union, manufacturing environment. The Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor is actively engaged in planning and leads the daily activities of a team of Electricians, Process Control Technicians and contractors in the areas of safety, quality and maintenance of all equipment and buildings to meet the departmental and plant objectives. This is a salaried, exempt position reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent.

The Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor will plan, develop, manage and provide effective leadership for the Electrical team by:

  • Ensuring the safety of all associates and contractors by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns.
  • Leading and developing the Electrical team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teams.
  • Participation in the planning and scheduling of Electrical work to minimize the impact on production.
  • Efficiently using reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are achieved.
  • Effectively use training resources to maximize team technical skills.
  • Using computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and assign maintenance resources.
  • Leads by proactively resolving associate and contractor issues, building team work, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Trades certification or Post-secondary diploma in technology or engineering required
  • A combination of suitable education and experience will also be considered.
  • Proven analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a leadership role and using CMMS (SAP) is preferred.
  • Experience with process control (PLC) is an advantage
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching and development

Compensation : This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $95,560- $139,470 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
