THE JOB:
The Manager of Instructional Design leads the strategy, design, development, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide learning solutions that supports and shapes the learning experience, by designing high-quality company-wide learning materials on a variety of subjects. This role is responsible for managing a team of instructional designers while establishing methodologies and best practices that ensure learning programs are engaging, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Through expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, learning technologies, and project leadership, this position develops innovative learning solutions that enhance employee capability, improve organizational performance, and support the achievement of strategic business goals.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Establish departmental priorities, workload distribution, project timelines, and quality expectations to ensure successful delivery of multiple concurrent instructional design initiatives
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development to a team of instructional designers
  • Apply core instructional design principles and theories to learning content by creating and maintaining style guides, current techniques, and training materials to develop governance practices across the learning function
  • Apply instructional design models including ADDIE, SAM, action mapping, design thinking, and performance consulting techniques when developing learning solutions
  • Write, design, and update learning content and materials supporting mandatory training using the most effective modalities including instructor led and virtual instructor led training, e-learning, blended learning, microlearning, video learning, and performance support tools
  • Oversee the creation of enterprise-wide learning programs and direct the development of comprehensive instructional materials
  • Serve as the primary instructional design consultant to business leaders and stakeholders
  • Partner with subject matter experts to transform complex operational information into learner-centered instructional experiences
  • Partner with LMS administrator for implementation of e-Learning content
  • Lead multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and organizational deadlines
  • Design presentations, create animated video content, author e-learning, create activities, and write the facilitator guide to create a consistent experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Have 5+ Years of prior relevant Experience in Instructional Design and developing corporate training programs.
  • Have 1+ Years of prior relevant experience in a Supervisory and or leadership role.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia editing software.
  • A Master's Degree - Preferred
  • Experience in Hospitality, Gaming, or similar setting - Preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Flash - Preferred
