Position Title: Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA)/Restorative Aide

Department: Briarwood Health Center

Schedule: FT Day Shift Monday-Friday.  Two Saturdays a month (if needed)

Pay: $24-$31.75 DOE   Shift Differentials offered!

Who you are:

  • Successful completion of a State-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. (CNA License)
  • Prior geriatric nurse aide experience is preferred. 
  • Registration with State registry required.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Positive and professional work demeanor required.
  • Minimum on (1) year experience in Nursing experience in assisted living, memory care preferred.

General Summary:

The Restorative Aide/CNA provides restorative/rehabilitative care to residents as identified by nursing staff as part of their care plan.  Completes assigned, Routine, Non-treatment activities, which are pre-determined for each patient by the restorative therapy program to strengthen muscles, assist with mobility, promote independence, prevent functional declines.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
  2. Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures, and collects specimens as instructed.
  3. Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
  4. Transfers, transports, and escorts residents as needed.
  5. Answers signal lights promptly.
  6. Changes bed linens, makes bed, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
  7. Follows resident care plans.
  8. Maintains safe and sanitary workstations and equipment.
  9. Encourages independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs, and rehabilitation.
  10. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  11. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting. May be exposed to blood and body fluids which may contain HIV and/or HBV. Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, Geri chair, or shower chair, pushing up to 150 pounds unassisted. Must be able to transfer, life, turn, and position a resident weighing over 125 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the workday. May be subjected to offensive odors and/or combative behavior. Must be able to reach up to a level of six feet. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push a dietary cart up to 40 pounds unassisted.
