Job description

Advance Your Fundraising Career at One of the Most Celebrated Arts Organizations

Are you a persuasive storyteller with a passion for the arts? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? Step into a role where your words help shape world-class artistic experiences and support a mission with global reach.

The Cliburn, a dynamic and internationally respected arts organization with a rich, vibrant history, is expanding its development team! We’re looking for an experienced Grant Writer with 3+ years of grant writing experience who’s ready to grow, contribute, and make a measurable impact.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • A supportive, spirited team of arts + nonprofit professionals
  • A workplace filled with energy, creativity, and purpose
  • The chance to contribute to something meaningful—locally and around the world
  • Excellent benefits, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, sick time, and a retirement plan
  • A perfect opportunity to deepen your expertise and establish yourself as a fundraising professional in a respected cultural institution

About the Role

As a key member of our development team, you’ll take the lead on essential grant writing and institutional giving efforts. This position emphasizes leadership, initiative, and strategic thinking, with a focus on identifying new institutional funding opportunities, cultivating relationships, and ensuring high-quality grant writing and reporting (~40 grants+ reporting per year).

You will:

  • Write, assemble, and submit compelling grant proposals
  • Maintain a detailed calendar of submissions, reporting dates, and deadlines
  • Support departmental activities including mailings, stewardship, and donor acknowledgment
  • Build and nurture relationships with foundation and institutional contacts
  • Contribute ideas, creativity, and initiative in a collaborative environment

You'll report to the Associate Director of Development and work closely with colleagues across the organization to support fundraising success.
