We are seeking a motivated, hard-working Apprentice Electrician / Electrical Helper to join our growing team. In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of experienced Journeyman Electricians and Foremen, gaining hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial, industrial, or residential electrical systems. This position is perfect for someone looking to launch a long-term career in the trades, blending on-the-job training with technical skill development. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, follows directions well, and takes job site safety seriously.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisted Installation: Help install electrical conduit, wiring, cables, lighting fixtures, receptacles, and switchboxes under the direct guidance of a lead electrician.
- Material & Tool Handling: Gather, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment around the job site. Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area.
- Conduit Bending & Prep: Learn and practice measuring, cutting, and bending conduit (EMT, PVC, or Rigid) using manual and mechanical benders.
- Wire Pulling: Assist in pulling wire through conduit runs and routing cables through walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Blueprint & Code Learning: Assist in reading basic blueprints and technical diagrams; learn to navigate electrical codes to ensure safe, compliant installations.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines, company safety policies, and proper PPE requirements at all times.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: [Entry-Level / 1–2 years of experience preferred]. Prior experience in general construction, carpentry, or completion of trade school courses is a major plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate from scratch.
- Aptitude & Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills (including reading a tape measure), and a strong willingness to learn a highly technical trade.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in tight spaces (crawls/attics), and stand for long periods in varying weather conditions.
- Tools: Must have or be willing to quickly acquire basic personal hand tools (tool pouch, linesman pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, tape measure). Specialized power tools will be provided by the company.
- Screening: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
