HVAC Sheet Metal Fabricator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Fabricator to manufacture HVAC ductwork and related components in a fabrication shop environment. This role focuses on precision layout, cutting, forming, and assembling sheet metal products according to drawings and specifications while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate HVAC ductwork, fittings, and accessories per shop drawings and specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and take-offs
  • Lay out, cut, form, and assemble sheet metal using shop equipment
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as brakes, shears, plasma tables, rollers, and seamers
  • Produce rectangular, spiral, round, and lined duct systems
  • Ensure ductwork meets SMACNA standards and company quality requirements
  • Label, stage, and prepare materials for field installation and delivery
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication shop
  • Identify fabrication issues and coordinate with project managers or field supervisors
  • Track production output and meet job schedules and deadlines

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of HVAC sheet metal fabrication experience (commercial preferred)
  • Ability to read shop drawings and duct layouts
  • Experience working with galvanized, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet metal
  • Proficiency with shop tools and fabrication machinery
  • Knowledge of SMACNA standards and fabrication methods
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Manual dexterity for precision layout and fabrication

Preferred (Not Required)

  • SMACNA certification or formal sheet metal apprenticeship
  • Experience with plasma tables or CNC fabrication equipment
  • Forklift certification
