About this Role
As a Substation Technician, you will support the successful delivery of substation construction projects by contributing to installation activities and developing your technical skills in a hands-on field environment. Working under the guidance of Foremen and Supervisors, you will assist in executing key scopes of work, gain exposure to substation construction practices, and build a strong foundation in safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their career within the utilities and substation construction field.
What You'll Do
  • Exposure or experience in:
    • Conduit installation and routing
    • Ground grid installation and basic grounding practices
    • Precast trench installation and layout
    • Cable tray installation for cable management
    • Structural steel installation support
    • Apparatus installation assistance
    • Bus work installation support
    • Low-voltage cable installation and basic wiring
  • Developing a working knowledge of substation materials, consumables, and tools, and understanding of their application in the field.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction while contributing to team success.
  • Safety-first mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding construction environment.
