How you will make an impact:
As an Electrician Apprentice you will support the Electrical Maintenance Group by learning and assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, components, and systems across manufacturing operations. This role gives you hands-on exposure to raw materials processing, papermaking, process-related equipment, paper converting equipment, electric motors, fans, blowers, and material handling equipment. You will help support preventative maintenance, trouble calls, night calls, and project work while building the technical foundation needed to grow in the electrical trade. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who has successfully completed electrical trade school and is ready to develop their skills in a highly specialized manufacturing environment.
  • Assist in the installation of electrical equipment, including replacement, new, and upgraded equipment as required.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and servicing of assigned electrical equipment.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and systems as required.
  • Support the practical safeguarding of personnel and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity.
  • Maintain positive interaction and communication with staff, supervisors, and customers.
  • Maintain required documentation, including drawings, work orders, equipment history, and related records.
  • Respond in a timely manner to supervisor and customer requests.
  • Obtain a Massachusetts Journeyman's License within five years.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have passed electrical trade school within 16 months of acceptance.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Possess basic computer skills and basic math skills.
  • Ability to accurately record and document all work.
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and call-ins as needed.

Preferred:
  • Ability to learn strong troubleshooting, fault analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical tools, test equipment, AC and DC electrical circuits, electrical protective devices, and related electrical maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings, schematics, and diagrams of electrical components.

The salary range for this role is $26.00 - 29.90 hourly. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
