Job description

Guardian Systems LLC is a growing security and technology integration company serving commercial and residential customers throughout Middle Tennessee and beyond. Our commercial division provides integrated solutions including electronic security, access control, video surveillance, fire and life safety, structured cabling, networking, audio/video, and other low-voltage technologies.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Security & Technology Integration Sales Consultant to join our team and help grow our commercial business.

Position Overview

The Commercial Security & Technology Integration Sales Consultant will be responsible for developing new commercial accounts while expanding relationships with existing customers.

This is a true relationship-driven, consultative sales position. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, meet with decision-makers, understand their business and security needs, develop solutions, prepare proposals, close projects, and maintain long-term customer relationships.

The ideal candidate understands that commercial security sales are about more than selling a camera or alarm system. Our goal is to become a trusted technology partner for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new commercial business throughout Middle Tennessee.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with:
    • General contractors
    • Electrical contractors
    • Property managers
    • Facility managers
    • Building owners
    • Developers
    • Commercial businesses
    • Healthcare organizations
    • Schools and educational facilities
    • Industrial and manufacturing customers
    • Multi-location organizations
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for upgrades, expansions, service agreements, and additional locations.
  • Prospect for new business through networking, referrals, cold calling, industry relationships, construction activity, and other lead-generation activities.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site walks, security assessments, and discovery meetings.
  • Work with customers to understand their security, life-safety, technology, and operational requirements.
  • Recommend integrated solutions based on customer needs and budget.
  • Develop proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and presentations in coordination with the estimating and engineering teams.
  • Sell solutions including:
    • Access Control
    • Video Surveillance / CCTV
    • Intrusion Detection
    • Fire & Life Safety
    • Intercom Systems
    • Structured Cabling
    • Networking
    • Audio/Video
    • Security Automation
    • Managed Security Solutions
    • Service and Maintenance Agreements
  • Pursue both new construction projects and existing-building retrofit opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, general contractors, electrical contractors, distributors, manufacturers, and end users.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms while protecting company margins.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through proposal, closing, and project handoff.
  • Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, estimating, and installation teams.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and customer information in the CRM.
  • Meet or exceed established sales and gross-margin objectives.
  • Represent Guardian Systems professionally at customer meetings, networking events, trade shows, and industry functions.

What Makes This Position Different

This is an opportunity to sell complete commercial technology solutions, not just individual security products.

You will have the support of Guardian's technical and operations teams to develop solutions that can include security, access control, video, fire/life safety, networking, structured cabling, and other integrated technologies.

The successful salesperson will have the opportunity to develop a territory, build long-term customer relationships, and create recurring revenue through service, monitoring, and technology agreements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of successful B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Commercial security, low-voltage, fire/life safety, technology, construction, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect for and close new business.
  • Experience managing an entire sales cycle from lead generation through close.
  • Strong understanding of commercial security technology is preferred.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into a proposed solution.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to read and understand basic construction plans, drawings, and scopes of work is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and related sales tools.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience selling or working with systems such as:

Access Control • CCTV/Video • Intrusion • Fire Alarm • Intercom • Structured Cabling • Networking • Cloud Security • Video Analytics • Security Management Software

Experience with commercial construction and relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, property managers, and facility directors is highly desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $40,000–$70,000 depending on experience

Total earning potential: $40,000–$100,000+

Compensation includes a competitive base salary combined with uncapped commission and performance incentives.

Additional benefits may include:

  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Company cell phone
  • Company laptop
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Company training and professional development
  • Manufacturer and industry training
  • Opportunities for advancement

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is a relationship builder and a hunter.

You should be comfortable walking into a business, meeting with an owner or facility manager, asking the right questions, identifying opportunities, and developing a solution that provides real value.

You don't have to be the most technical person in the room. You do need to be able to understand the customer's problem, communicate the solution, and bring the right Guardian team members into the process.

If you already have relationships in the Middle Tennessee commercial construction, security, electrical, property management, or facilities markets, that's a significant advantage.

Why Join Guardian Systems?

Guardian is a growing company where your efforts directly impact the success of the business. You won't be just another salesperson in a large corporate organization.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Build and manage your own commercial territory.
  • Develop both new and existing accounts.
  • Work with experienced technical and installation professionals.
  • Sell cutting-edge security and technology solutions.
  • Build recurring revenue through long-term customer relationships.
  • Grow your income as you grow the business.
  • Become a key member of a growing Middle Tennessee security integration company.

If you're an experienced commercial salesperson who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and selling technology solutions, we'd like to hear from you.
