As an Ingalls Joiner – Skilled, you are part of a specialized team responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing interior and structural components throughout the ship. From bulkheads and deck structures to furniture, finishes, and outfitting items, your work brings function, form, and durability to every space on board.

What You Can Earn

What You'll Do

  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior finishes, and cabin accessories.
  • Construct and install wood and metal deck structures, partitions, furniture bases, racks, bins, decorative ceilings, false decks, and other outfitting items.
  • Follow plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
  • Use woodworking equipment, carpentry tools, metal-working tools, and power tools to complete detailed joiner work.
  • Support ship construction in diverse shipboard environments and be available to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
