Job description

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Preparation and painting:
    Interior - Removes furniture and wall hangings. Protect permanent fixtures. Tape off baseboards, chair rails and windowsills. Place drop cloths on the floors for protection. Patch walls as needed. Clean the vents, diffusers and ceiling grid. Wash the walls and trim. Apply primer and finish coats of paint.
    Exterior - Prepare the substrate by power washing, scraping, sanding, scarifying or sandblasting. Replace and glaze the broken glass. Apply primer and finish coats of paint.
    Rigging - Erects and uses stationary scaffolding, mobile scaffolding, suspension scaffolding, boatswain's chair, window jack scaffold, ladders, ladder jacks, pick boards, and man lifts.
    Responsible for the security and maintenance of all painting equipment such as brushes, rollers, drop cloths, ladders, spray equipment, scaffolding, man lifts, etc.
  • Layout and stripe parking lots and streets.
  • Fabricate and install signage (hand lettering, stencils, silk screening, vinyl, engraving, etc.).
  • Tape and finish drywall.
  • Fabricate and install aluminum storefronts. cut and install glass for windows, doors, desktops and fume hoods. Apply window films.
  • Install wallpaper, vinyl, foil, grass cloth and wall liners.
  • Remove graffiti.
  • Train painter apprentices.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
