Job Description
JOB POSITION SUMMARY
Understand and manage the districts scope of services for large projects, including, but not limited to, project scope, customer interface, supervision, material, equipment and resource planning activities. Also manage the safety requirements and financial performance of each project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Present the kick off meetings with field sales staff, internal branch personnel, and internal or external engineers.
Facilitate on site client and sub-contractor meetings and draft milestone delivery schedules to meet the customer delivery promises.
Manages and monitors the production processes, selection of vendors, maintain product standards.
Develop installation packages and conduct installation meetings with branch services and sub contracts to communicate the entire process to a successful and timely delivery within estimated margin expectations.
Responsible for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of each project using communication, technical expertise, and organizational skills to achieve customer satisfaction and meet the financial goals of the business unit.
Direct interface between Modernization Group, sub-contract resources, suppliers and in-house technical experts in order to be successful in a quality order delivery.
Establish and maintain project plan to ensure records are accurate.
Develop bill of materials from the order to clarify the exact deliverable package.
Verify approval drawings and field dimensions for accuracy.
Verify all customer safety requirements and ensure the project personnel are equipped to meet or exceed the requirements.
Use Microsoft Project or other planning tools to develop timelines and task responsibilities that can be shared with the customer and used internally.
Issue purchase requisitions to the branch for materials, equipment and subcontractors.
Maintain cost sheets, continuously monitoring cost versus estimate on each product line to manage overall budget forecast.
Develop relationships with field install crews by having knowledge of the project site requirements so the final deliverables meet our customer satisfaction requirements.
Order and coordinate delivery of installation field material with sub-contractor and/or branch personnel.
Maintain continuous dialog with customers (internal & external) updating them on all key milestones.
Manage and identify change in contracted scope with customer and present material or labor pricing alternatives to the customer.
Monitor progress billing milestones coordinating with the branch administrators.
Work with in house administrator to close out timely invoicing with a prior project review before final closing of order.
Manage product cost to maintain or improve order Gross Margin forecast
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Skilled in effectiveness for planning, control monitoring, engineering processes, conflict management and resolution, contracting, procurement and quality assurance management, and advance communication abilities.
Be able to process technical information and provide technical instructions.
Be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical prints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word are required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Project Management or General Business Administration.
Previous technical and organizational experience will be considered.
3-5 years of project management experience.
Technical expertise for electrical, mechanical, and field installations relating to the overhead crane industry.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Travel estimated at 50% when required to meet with customers, witness product testing, and install site visits.
